Young Athletes is a play program for ALL kids that is hosted by Special Olympics Minnesota and the Ojibwe Nation. This one-of-a-kind event is for all children in the Leech Lake community ages 2-7. Activities will include fun stations that not only teach the children important sports skills but also teach traditional Ojibwe games with elders from the community! The event activities will give everyone the chance to participate no matter their ability. Children will play, participate in a pediatric screening, and most importantly have fun! The event is FREE to those attending and food/prizes/t-shirts will be provided.
Parents have two options for registration:
- Option 1: Participation in the Young Athletes activities ONLY.
- Option 2: Participation in Young Athletes AND in the pediatric screening.
A parent/guardian must attend the event unless your child is attending with their teacher. For the pediatric screening, the children will go through the event with their parent/guardian. Questions? Contact [email protected].
