Due to excessive heat index predicted for August 25, and to ensure everyone’s safety, Special Olympics Minnesota has decided to cancel some of the later tee times for the state golf competition taking place at Oak Marsh Golf Course. Below are the updates on scheduling:

  • All Individual Skills athletes will still be able to compete at their scheduled time.
  • All 3-Hole and 5-Hole (Traditional and Unified) tee times will remain at their scheduled time.
  • All Traditional 9-Hole tee times will be cancelled. There will be no traditional 9-Hole event.
  • All Unified 9-Hole tee times after 10:20 will be cancelled. The 10:20 tee time will be the last Unified 9-Hole group that will go out on the course.
    • This affects Unified 9-Hole divisions U914, U915, U916, U917, U918, U919, U920, U921, U922, and U923.

If you are competing in a division that is remaining on the schedule, but decide that the heat in the morning is not suitable for you or your athlete, please email your Head Coach, and they will relay to us at the state office.

This decision will NOT impact 2026 USA Games qualifying. Information on qualifying information will be shared at a later date, but no one will be penalized for not being able to compete tomorrow.
