We have all struggled to read the long list of information on food labels. How do we know what to do with these details? Our Nutrition course will help you understand labeling standards and offer tips and tricks for estimating healthy portion sizes.

Understanding Food Labels – Topics will include how to read food labels, serving sizes, using the percent daily value, calories and macronutrients, ingredients list and nutritional claims.

Portion Sizes – Topics will include serving size vs. portion size, portion distortion, portion control, plate size, measuring servings and portions and portion sizing.

After finishing this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand food labels
  • Understand how various ingredients affect your nutrition goals
  • Understand proper portion sizes
