Special Olympics Minnesota is proud to announce the 245-member Team Minnesota delegation that will represent our great state at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, hosted right here at the University of Minnesota.

This once-in-a-lifetime event will bring thousands of athletes, coaches and Unified partners from across the country to Minnesota in a celebration of inclusion, ability and sportsmanship. With nearly 800 applicants from across our state, the selection process for Team Minnesota was incredibly competitive. Each of the 245 individuals selected embody the spirit of determination and heart that defines Special Olympics.

“I am unbelievably proud of all of our athletes who qualified for this opportunity,” says Kelly Monicatti, Vice President of Sports, Health and Schools and Head of Delegation for Team Minnesota. “To all that applied: thank you. Your dedication, passion and hard work are what make Special Olympics Minnesota so awesome, and there is a place for everyone at USA Games!”

To unveil the full Team Minnesota roster, Special Olympics Minnesota hosted a live announcement celebration on YouTube on Tuesday, May 20 at 6 PM. The program featured messages from special guests including WWE Superstar and Minnesota native Chad Gable, Minnesota Vikings legend John Randle, Governor Tim Walz, First Lady Gwen Walz and more.
