May 2024 — The 2024 Spring Fit 5 Challenge, happening May 6 through June 24, is the perfect way for Special Olympics Minnesota athletes to practice healthy habits leading up to Summer Games. Fit 5 is a plan developed by Special Olympics International that focuses on improving physical activity, nutrition and hydration. It’s an accessible program designed to help athletes perform to the best of their ability at every practice and every competition.

During the 7-week Spring Fit 5 Challenge, participants focus on three pillars of the Fit 5 program with these tasks:

  1. Drinking 5 glasses of water a day.
  2. Eating 5 servings of fruits and veggies a day.
  3. Exercising 5 days a week.

Everyone who completes the challenge will receive a limited-edition Fit 5 luggage tag that can be proudly displayed on bags and equipment at Special Olympics Minnesota competitions. Within the challenge, there are mini games and fitness classes where participants can boost their fitness and win additional prizes such as apparel, gift cards and more.
