Minneapolis, MN — May 20, 2025 – Special Olympics Minnesota is proud to announce the 245-member Team Minnesota delegation that will represent our great state at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, taking place next year at the University of Minnesota.

Nearly 800 athletes, coaches and Unified partners from across Minnesota applied for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. After a thorough selection process, 245 outstanding individuals were chosen to be part of Team Minnesota. Each member of this delegation embodies the spirit, dedication and determination that define Special Olympics athletes—and Special Olympics Minnesota is so proud of every single applicant who applied for this honor.

To officially reveal the full Team Minnesota roster, Special Olympics Minnesota will broadcast a special announcement celebration on YouTube Monday, May 20 at 6 PM. The event will feature special appearances by WWE Superstar and Minnesota native Chad Gable, Minnesota Vikings legend John Randle, Governor Tim Walz, First Lady Gwen Walz and more.

The 2026 Special Olympics USA Games will bring together thousands of athletes from across the country to compete in a celebration of ability, courage and teamwork. The University of Minnesota will serve as the host site, making these Games especially meaningful for Team Minnesota and the local community.
