New to LETR

Special Olympics Minnesota (SOMN) is changing the game for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Through its athletic, health, school and leadership programs, Special Olympics Minnesota empowers people to transform themselves, their communities and the world.

In Minnesota, more than 8,200 athletes participate in 17 official state level sports. SOMN depends on donations to support our program. Like any team, we can’t do it alone.

There are many ways you can get involved to support SOMN and the LETR movement!

Helping raise money for our Special Olympics MN athletes is easier and less time consuming than you may think! From creating a team for one of our events, to hosting your own agency led event or selling LETR merchandise, you can choose the options that work best for your agency.

We always need law enforcement volunteers at our various LETR fundraisers, but we are also always looking for law enforcement volunteers to help at SOMN competitions. Whether it is handing out medals to athletes, becoming a coach of a team or being a Unified Partner for an athlete, there are many ways you can get more involved with the Special Olympics mission.

It is our goal to have a liaison from every law enforcement agency across the state of MN. Once you become a liaison, there are other opportunities to get more involved with us such as becoming a part of our executive council, attending LETR conferences, having SOMN into your agency to talk more about what we do/how to get involved and so much more.
