In this event, law enforcement officers sit on the rooftop of a building for one or more days to raise awareness of and funds for Special Olympics.

  • Officers station themselves on top of a roof and can lower a bucket to grab cash donations from passersby.
  • Officers on the ground answer any questions about the event and why they are here to help raise money for Special Olympics Minnesota. These officers will also have the ability to take credit card donations if needed.
  • Typically in exchange for a donation, the customer will receive a coupon to that local business.

Dunkin’ Cop on a Rooftop

LETR programs from around the country partner with Dunkin’ to host hundreds of Cop on a Rooftop events. Locally, the event has raised over $30,000 in its first three years. Local law enforcement agencies and Dunkin’ shops partner to create a very successful event. Officers work in shifts to help cover the morning time needed on the roof and help take donations on the ground. Customers who give a donation of any amount on this day receive a free donut!
