What's the difference between Special Olympics Minnesota and Special Olympics Incorporated?
Special Olympics Minnesota is an accredited program of Special Olympics Incorporated. Special Olympics is a state-based organization and Special Olympics Incorporated is the international organization.

What percentage of your expenses are spent on overhead costs?
While the percentage varies slightly from year-to-year, we consistently spend less than 30 percent of our total annual expenses on management and fundraising costs, using more than 70 percent of our funds to provide programming for our athletes.
I just received a phone call from someone claiming they were from Special Olympics Minnesota. Is this legitimate?
Special Olympics Minnesota contracts with a company called Heritage for its telephone fundraising. Heritage is located in Arkansas; therefore, the person on the phone may not have a Minnesotan accent, but you can be sure your money is coming directly to us!

Do you accept donations of used trophies?
As all of our athletes are awarded medals or ribbons at Special Olympics Minnesota competitions, we cannot accept donations of trophies.
